Fitness & Exercise During Pregnancy

Exercise & Fitness during PregnancyWe all know just how important it is to keep our bodies healthy and fit, and this is even more important now that you are pregnant.

Exercise during pregnancy can improve your muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness, as well as lead to a better appearance and posture, lessen some of the discomforts of pregnancy, strengthen the muscles needed for labor and delivery, and make you feel good too! Not only will exercising during your pregnancy benefit you during your pregnancy, but afterwards as well. It will help you to loose your pregnancy weight quicker, lessen the effects of your pregnancy on your body, such as stretch marks, additional loose skin and leave you feeling more energetic.

Exercise And Fitness During Pregnancy

The exercises you can do during pregnancy depend on your health and how active you were before you became pregnant. If you were not active before pregnancy, this is not the time to start an extremely strenuous exercise program.

However, exercises such as swimming, walking, or prenatal exercise classes are great places for you to get started. If you exercised before pregnancy, you should be able to continue with your exercise program but within reason. Check with your doctor first if you have special health circumstances that require further information.
