My husband and I wanted to start trying for a baby. I have been off the Nuva Ring for about 3 weeks. What are the chances of getting pregnant within the first month of removing the ring? I may be changing jobs and will need to put baby planning on hold for a little while. I planned on putting a ring in today. Does anyone know of any reason I shouldn't? If there is a chance I was pregnant, what would happen to the baby/fetus if I do insert a ring today?

thanks for the feedback

Before i got pregnant I was on the pill for 2.5 years and then switched to the Nuva Ring after for about 6 months..I decided to take it out so we could try for a baby. I was pregnant within a month of taking it out. If youve been trying, I would take a test just to be sure.. Im not sure what would happen if you are pregnant and insert the ring now though

I got pregnant either the first or second month after coming off the nuva ring, I agree with xcutiex4xlifex16 you should take a test.

I definately would not recommend the NuvaRing to anyone that is wanting to be sexually active. When I first started on this medication I was a thousand miles away from my husband, so the effects weren't as obvious at first. Then I began to get irritated more and more with the stupidest things. Once we were finally able to see each other for two short weeks, vaginal dryness and decrease in sex drive caused us to have intimate relations a measly 5 times after not seeing each other for 13 months. Now the ring is taken out due to a mix up with my insurance(thank the gods for small favors) and I noticed the difference. Yes, there was a pregnancy scare after the ring came out, but apparently that's normal coming off the NuvaRing. This product may be convenient, but should convenience outweigh your own pleasure and happiness? I'm just going to contact with nuvaring lawsuit http://www.usdrugrecall.com/nuvaring-lawsuit-washington-dc-nuvaring-lawyer-attorney.html .

The Nuvaring is a hormonal form of birth control so you shouldn't use it if you are or think you may be pregnant.

What I would suggest is to use condoms until you get your period before you start with the nuvaring again next month. That way if you are pregnant you won't have exposed the fetus to the hormones. Pregnancy tests usually don't show anything until you are late for your period anyway. I don't know what would happen to a possible baby if you did use the nuvaring while pregnant - probably nothing obvious but I don't think it would be too good either. Probably better just to avoid it for now...

I thought birth control pills did the same thing...decreased sex drive and dryness. I figured both were hormones and have some similar effects. That's interesting though.

Important Cloth Diaper Basics
hanks to the recent "green" way of thinking, people are starting to look more seriously into alternatives to disposable diapers. Cloth diapers have come a long way over the past decade and are nothing like the cloth diapers of the past.

Returning To Work Post Pregnancy
Some women are lucky to have lots of time off after having a baby, while others need to go back to work as soon as possible. No matter how long a maternity leave you may have had to spend with your baby, going back to work can be a hard transition...one that you are not looking forward to making.

Great Breastfeeding Tips
Although breastfeeding is a wonderful experience for you and your baby, it is not one that comes without hardships. Breastfeeding at first, can be very difficult and hard to commit to. It doesn't have to be this way though.
