So many of you already know I was in the hospital last night.

I went in because I was having chest and upper back pain bad enough for me to be concerned. I get there and they checked me in. I had just enough time to get not drink a cup of water before they brought me back and hooked me up to 3345345345 (over-exaggerating) different machines. Things were beeping, printing, etc. Then they bring in more flipping machines and say they gotta run more tests. Which means more wires, beeping things, and stuff printing.

After all that I got a physical exam and an x-ray. Someone from L&D came down to monitor the babies but since it was after 9pm they would not stay still since that is their "play time". It took forever to get them to stay still long enough to record their heartbeats. Baby A is at 136 and Baby B is at 149. Mine was at 155/107

But all in all, it came down to they dont see anything and the tests come back negative for anything. So the Doctor came to one conclusion. That my chest is just irritated from being sick for the past few days or I have a small blood clot in my lungs. Something that only a CT could see.

I was put on a wall with this dilemma. On one hand if it is a blood clot then I'd have to live in the hospital on blood thinners until they are born. Which I really wouldn't mind if its for the safety of me and the babies. But on the other the CT can be dangerous to the babies because of all the radiation.

I've seen first hand what what a lot of radiation can do to a person. And as little unborn babies that is a lot of radiation to put their little bodies through. The Doctor said he doesn't see why it cant wait because my Oxygen levels are fine and I'm not in a whole lot of pain.

My BP was down to normal levels today. First since before I found out I am prego. It was 121/76.

He put me on Tamiflu (sp?, It's an anti Viral Medication) just in case. And they tested me for H1N1 wont get anything back on that until tomorrow night I think.

I'm still not sure If I want to do the CT tho. I figure give it about a week (if my chest is just irritated than the pain should go away by then) and if the pain is still there then I'll bring the thought of doing that back. I dont want to stress about it.

Pulmonary Embolism is no fun and if that is what it is you would be spitting up some blood.. I had a blood clot in my leg a couple years ago and they did an Ultrasound on it...maybe they can do one to your chest? I think you should research everything you can think of online and then write a long list of questions to ask your doctor... neither senario sounds good!

There is a lab call a d-dimer. If it is elevated, it can be indicative (not diagnostic) of a blood clot (in your case, pulmonary emboli). You should ask if they ran that test.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

What have you been sick with...symptoms? Do you have a history of allergies or asthma?

I had the flu back in July and I was having really bad chest pains..couldn't breathe in all the way. Since my husband had the flu, I went to the doctors and they told me that I was probably getting it and it was aggravating my allergy induced asthma. It hurt so bad, I thought I had pulled the cartiledge in my ribs again.

I hope they figure out what is wrong and that you don't have to make that tough decision.

Important Cloth Diaper Basics
hanks to the recent "green" way of thinking, people are starting to look more seriously into alternatives to disposable diapers. Cloth diapers have come a long way over the past decade and are nothing like the cloth diapers of the past.

Returning To Work Post Pregnancy
Some women are lucky to have lots of time off after having a baby, while others need to go back to work as soon as possible. No matter how long a maternity leave you may have had to spend with your baby, going back to work can be a hard transition...one that you are not looking forward to making.

Great Breastfeeding Tips
Although breastfeeding is a wonderful experience for you and your baby, it is not one that comes without hardships. Breastfeeding at first, can be very difficult and hard to commit to. It doesn't have to be this way though.
