This is my 2nd pregnancy and we would like to find out the sex of this baby. Our 1st was a surprise!!! I was wondering how early an ultrasound can detect the sex of the baby? I had an ultrasound yesterday but I am only 10 weeks 2 days and am not sure of when my next will be.
generally they wait until 20 weeks as it gives a much better picture. however they can tell as early as 13 weeks but it is not a guarantee they're right
"The day you slipped away was the day I found it won't be the same" - Slipped Away by Avril Lavigne
I found out at 18 weeks. Some 3D ultrasound places will do it at 16 weeks. A lot of docs, however, are starting to think that 3D ultrasounds are not a very healthy choice for baby if it is simply for fun...
They start developing male or female genitalia at around 12-13 weeks so there's no way to really tell until after that occurs...and of course that can take a while.
20 weeks is the usual time they can determine however some people have been lucky and got guesses earlier. I found out my boys were boys at 16 weeks but then again we did the midterm anatomy scan early because there were 2 in me and only so much room to see things. It was verified at 20 weeks and again at 24 weeks etc (monthly scans)
Important Cloth Diaper Basics
hanks to the recent "green" way of thinking, people are starting to look more seriously into alternatives to disposable diapers. Cloth diapers have come a long way over the past decade and are nothing like the cloth diapers of the past.
Returning To Work Post Pregnancy
Some women are lucky to have lots of time off after having a baby, while others need to go back to work as soon as possible. No matter how long a maternity leave you may have had to spend with your baby, going back to work can be a hard transition...one that you are not looking forward to making.
Great Breastfeeding Tips
Although breastfeeding is a wonderful experience for you and your baby, it is not one that comes without hardships. Breastfeeding at first, can be very difficult and hard to commit to. It doesn't have to be this way though.
