I am 33 weeks pregnant and still going through excessive saliva from the mouth and still so tired. I have been taking iron pills but it's hard to swallow because of the saliva and the constant excessive saliva is so exhausting because I constantly since week 6 have had to have or drink some sort of fluid, gum,or lay a towel by my mouth 24/7. This is my 2nd child and when I was pregnant with my son who is 2 now,my pregnancy was even worse where I experienced extreme weight loss, excessive saliva, constant vomiting, and nausea. Pregnancy is a wonderful and beautiful thing but very hard to enjoy when your going through so many difficulties. Is anyone going through this or anything similar?

I had problems with excessive saliva, but is mainly caused by an underlying condition. I was told by my ENT dr that preg hormones make saliva worse and unfortunately you just have to deal with it :( You can always try gurgling salt water to help a bit. good luck!

Oh boy did I have that excessive saliva problem with all my pregnancy's and it was horrible!! With my last pregnancy my doctor finally put me on prevacid and suddenly the saliva problem was gone! I'm hopeful that with my next pregnancy, if there is a next pregnancy, that my doctor will put me on prevacid again as soon as possible and that it fixes the saliva problem like I think it may have last time. I know how you feel, I had to sleep with a towel in my mouth at night and during the day I walked around with a washcloth in my mouth. If I had to go out in public I would suck on candy, most of the sugar free kind of candy causes diarrhea if you eat too much so be careful about that if you try candy. Sounds like your pregnancy's are as harsh as mine, good luck with that...just remember that it will pass and before you know it you will have a precious baby in your arms and it will all be worth it.

Thank You!!! that was very helpful. I will have to get some prevacid ASAP before my 36 week appointment in 2 weeks. It really is such a rare symptom to have excessive saliva and makes me throw up. I don't want to go through this problem again and scared to get pregnant again because my pregnancies are so bad.

Important Cloth Diaper Basics
hanks to the recent "green" way of thinking, people are starting to look more seriously into alternatives to disposable diapers. Cloth diapers have come a long way over the past decade and are nothing like the cloth diapers of the past.

Returning To Work Post Pregnancy
Some women are lucky to have lots of time off after having a baby, while others need to go back to work as soon as possible. No matter how long a maternity leave you may have had to spend with your baby, going back to work can be a hard transition...one that you are not looking forward to making.

Great Breastfeeding Tips
Although breastfeeding is a wonderful experience for you and your baby, it is not one that comes without hardships. Breastfeeding at first, can be very difficult and hard to commit to. It doesn't have to be this way though.
